This is the second one, the first concept is above ground and I had originally envisioned it diving under water as a transition between two environments.

2012 city

Hi, this was peice was originally intended to be a city set in 2012. I tried to use some contemporary architectural buildings but not ge to far out there, I tried to throw in a bunch of little futuristic stuff here and there.. The Asimo robot, street lamps with solor panels, some furutistic concept cars (the autonomy, audi rsx, toytota pm, smart car, etc) as well as some other very personal touches.

I set it at sunset because you can get the artificial light of night during the day... i liked having tte last glimmer of sunet in the background still peaking through as it's going down and having a shadow cast on the foreground vehicles to make their headlights pop more. I also thought the warmer green neon sign served really well compositionally because it plays off the coolor purple/violet - ish tone. feedback is welcome please, thanks

This was a peice I did for a test that I went back in and worked on a little bit. It started out as an ancient old abandoned Cthulu chapel, hence the multi-tentacled guy figure on top and lack of other known religious icons... I was also used some Aztec features as well. I really think the ornateness of it even though it's warned down and abandoned. C&C is welcome, thanks.

arch interior

I had quite a struggle with this piece. I had started it because I had heard someone say that a lot of concept design work is interiors even though a lot of times all you see are exteriors. I had started it but and then left it for later because I had gotten to busy. I did eventually come back and finish it only to have my hard drive erased with this and three other finished environment pieces (that still hurts) :(. So i wound up having to go back and redo it from the initial beginning stage I had started it from. I had taken some subtle influence from the Mezquita in Cordoba, Spain hence the elements of red dispersed on the pillars in around the architecture to play against the general cool palette of the piece. As always, C&C is welcome. Thanks.

This piece is kind of old and I still liked it. It had originally meant to be a main scary monster that I had worked on. I had spent all this time trying to come up with something for it and I wound up trashing weeks of work on other concept and just sat down practically did this in one shot. I had gotten the idea for the red and green color palette from a famous cover of national geographic cover:
I think the character maintains a warm welcoming feel, C&C is always welcome. Thanks.

It is described as a gritty dark future environment with a contrast parts of extreme wealth, as seen in the the background high tech buildings kind of described as a combination of blade runner and the fifth element. Please comment, thanks.

For this peice I really wanted to get the warm and slightly nostalgic feeling. In my mind I had pictured the structure in the background as a memorial in a park or college campus. I initially was going to use a woman in a red dress but didn't think it would really keep you warm in the autumn seaon, so instead went this little girl. I think that having the little girl standing there all by herself seems to add a kind of isolation some people have often wondered what she is doing all alone. Any feedback you could give would be much appreciated.

I had done this originally for another digital painting that unfortunately did not get the feedback I was hoping for, but I still liked the drawing and thought I could use it in another peice seen here. I haven't gotten to much feedback on it, so please let me know what you think.
P.S.- Believe it or not, someone told me that Norah Jones is actually Ravi Shankar's daughter! Yeah, I know, I was suprised too.... just thought you'd like to know....
